About this event:
The Chicago Public Library and Latino Music Festival present a wonferfully rich concert performed by Cuarteto Q-Arte.
Cuarteto Q-Arte began its activities five years ago as part of the research project “Música de Cámara Latinoamericana”, affiliated with the National University of Colombia. The quartet is integrated by four professors of the Conservatory of Music of the National University of Colombia. After its participants studied in Europe, they became interested in the diffusion of written music for string quartets after being inspired by different authors from Latin America.
Q-Arte has performed at the main Colombian venues, such as Sala de Conciertos de la Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango, the Auditorio León de Greiff and the Sala Otto de Greiff, part of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogota. In 2008, the quartet recorded its first album, Resonancias, which included several Hispanic works. More recently, they have been working with composer Gustavo Leone.
