About this event:

Acclaimed and bestselling science writers Mary Roach and Rebecca Skloot provide a fascinating discussion about Roach's new book titled Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal and the writing process associated with science-based literature.

Mary Roach, 'America's funniest science writer' (Washington Post), takes us down the hatch on a unforgettable tour of our insides. The alimentary canal is classic Mary Roach terrain: the questions inspired by our insides are as taboo, in their way, as the cadavers in Stiff and every bit as surreal as the universe of zero gravity explored in Packing for Mars. Like all of Roach's books, Gulp is as much about human beings as it is about human bodies.

Rebecca Skloot, the author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, joins Ms. Roach for what is sure to be one of the season's most fascinating discussions!

This program is presented in partnership with the Illinois Science Council.

Seating is limited and available first come, first served.  Reservations are not required.  Books are available for purchase and the authors will autograph books at the program's conclusion.
