In addressing the City council Honorable Michael A. Bilandic assured one and all that the City could face the future with confidence. He promised that we would not lose the legacy of Mayor Richard J. Daley. He stated that the late Mayor did not believe in naming a successor because he had such strong belief in the democratic processes in naming one. He also promised that it would be his responsibility that the next Mayor would be familiar with the governmental processes. He also said that he would not be a candidate for Mayor and that he would resign as Alderman of the 11th Ward. In conclusion, Honorable Michael A. Bilandic presented his Mother, Brothers, Sister, Secretary and Miss Heather Morgan.
