Scope and Content

The materials in this supplement are arranged into the corresponding series of Biographical Data, Business Establishments, Churches, Clubs and Organizations, Historical Events and Sketches, Miscellaneous, Municipal Agencies, Parks, Schools, Streets, Transportation, and Viewbooks. Oversize Materials include items from many of these series. Photographs include various productions at the Theater on the Lake, in Lincoln Park, in the 1960s, as well as renovations of an apartment in Lincoln Park in 1946 and 1947 and other miscellaneous images. To facilitate research, all photographs, regardless of accession, are listed together. A complete list of photographs can be found in the photograph finding guide.

Also included in this Supplement are many 19th-century imprints and manuscripts which were the gift of James Francus, purchased by Francus from the Dicke Estate.

Processed by Galen R. Wilson, July 1990
