Scope and Content
The materials in this supplement are arranged into the corresponding
series of Biographical Data, Business Establishments, Churches, Clubs
and Organizations, Historical Events and Sketches, Miscellaneous,
Municipal Agencies, Parks, Schools, Streets, Transportation, and Viewbooks.
Oversize Materials include items from many of these series. Photographs
include various productions at the Theater on the Lake, in Lincoln
Park, in the 1960s, as well as renovations of an apartment in Lincoln
Park in 1946 and 1947 and other miscellaneous images. To facilitate
research, all photographs, regardless of accession, are listed together.
A complete list of photographs can be found in the photograph finding
guide.
Also included in this Supplement are many 19th-century imprints and
manuscripts which were the gift of James Francus, purchased by Francus
from the Dicke Estate.
