West Englewood
About this Library
West Englewood Branch opened on August 23, 2003 in response to the community outcry for a library branch that had lasted several decades. Located at the corner of 63rd and Wood, the branch was part of the 63rd Street Revitalization that the City continues to support.
Patrons eagerly awaited the opening of their new branch and over 300 children participated in the branch's first Summer Reading Program held in July 2004. The branch is proud to offer several sought after programs including Teacher in the Library, CyberNavigator and the Know More Series in conjunction with The Public Square.
Each year, circulation continues to grow and area residents proudly support their community branch through volunteerism and programming support. Proudly, the West Englewood Branch is an environmentally safe city facility and holds the status of being a "Green Building".
