Little Village
About This Library
Little Village Branch replaced Marshall Square Branch, a small storefront that opened in 1991 at 2724 W. Cermak Road. Little Village Branch was constructed in tandem with the Chicago Fire Department’s Engine Company 109 Firehouse, which shares the site.
Located in the South Lawndale community commonly known as “LaVillita,” Little Village Branch offers collections in Spanish and English, including books, newspapers, magazines, educational and entertainment DVDs; databases for online research; computers to access the Internet; programs and other services for all ages.
The 16,300-square-foot branch features environmentally sustainable construction, anticipating silver certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
