Budlong Woods
About This Library
Budlong Woods Branch opened February 8, 2003. The branch takes its name from Lyman A. Budlong, who founded a local pickle farm in the 1800s.
Artwork by Andrew Young entitled “Promised Treasure” (2005) consists of paint and hand-painted papers on four wood panels. The artwork was funded through the Percent for Art Ordinance administered by the City of Chicago Public Art Program. The branch also has a reading garden.
Budlong Woods Branch features environmentally sustainable construction under the Leadership in Energy and Environmentally Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
