Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month Featured Artist: Jiae Park

May 1, 2013 – May 31, 2013

The Chicago Public Library is celebrating Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month (May) with a series of art exhibits of works by Asian/Pacific American artists. These exhibits can be seen at library locations throughout the city. Avalon features artist Jiae Park. Before coming to the United States, Park was a drawing teacher and fashion designer in South Korea. Park is studying painting and drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Park’s most recent exhibit was in the seventh annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Mural Competition Exhibition in February.
