Paris? Oui, Oui!

Bonjour mon amis! I’ve just realized a new month is upon us and I haven’t planned any vacations yet. A problem I will remedy as soon as I am home and can look at the family calendar! What I really want to do, though, is travel back to Paris, France and explore the culture, the clothes, the history, the food, and night life. I went a few years ago before my kids were born, and know that it will be a little time before I can return. But, I can transport myself there when I just close my eyes… me, sitting by the River Seine enjoying my pain au chocolat and café without a care in the world as I take in all the beauty of the moment.  Now, I do what I can and saturate my mind with as many French-inspired things as I can. Like, making Thursday nights French Cooking night, or reading books about chic clothing and style. And, there are so many great books, both fiction and nonfiction, which are set in Paris that I am able to get my Francophile fix anytime. Here are some to enjoy that are tres manifique about the beautiful City of Lights.

How Paris Became Paris A great account of the historical, urban planning that went into designing and building the city. Public spaces were sought out and helped to define destinations that are accustomed parts of modern living and Parisian culture.

We'll Always Have Paris A beautiful new memoir by Jennifer Coburn celebrating her travels in Europe with her daughter and the bond that shared moments create.

Paris Was Ours A collection of diverse essays from over thirty writers sharing their unique experiences in the city. All the beauty, joy, pain, heartbreak, and glamour are passionately presented.

A Paris Apartment Based on historical events, Gable's novel introduces rich characters that offer pure escapism.

One Evening in Paris A must read for intrigue, romance, and pure selfish enjoyment set in the city of love.
