Get Creative: Day of Play Is Saturday, October 24

Bring your creativity and imagination to Day of Play on Saturday, October 24 at Harold Washington Library Center.

This hands-on event for children ages 3-11 features the Global Cardboard Challenge, a LEGO brick room and many other activities to encourage kids and their families to play, build and learn together.

But you can explore play anytime. Here are some books that inspire us.

When is a box Not A Box? When it becomes a robot, a car or a rocket in a child's imagination.

Three imaginative kids defend the castle from dragons and beasts until they are forced to surrender to some loving giants in King Jack and the Dragon.

Benny just wants to be a pirate on the high seas, but when his sister Penny insists his ship is just a box, Benny teaches her to Just Pretend.

You too can become a Master Builder when you design and build something amazing with a little help from The LEGO Ideas Book.

No matter the weather, it's always the perfect time of year to explore Sand and Water Play!
