Alice’s 150 Years in Wonderland

Don't be late to the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Lewis Carroll's classic tale of the little girl who falls down the rabbit hole was originally published in 1865. To celebrate, the original publisher of Alice, Macmillan, has created some fun activities including a board game and playing cards.

With so many versions of the book available in numerous formats, here are a few of our favorites:

The Annotated Alice is an excellent starting point on your journey down the rabbit hole. Not only does it explain the riddles and wordplay in the text of the story, but it also contains the original illustrations by John Tenniel.

Helen Oxenbury's modern take on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland shows our heroine in jeans and sneakers, but maintains Oxenbury's high level of watercolor illustrations.

Even the youngest Alice fans can enjoy Little Master Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, a board book colors primer.

And who doesn't love Disney's cartoon version of Alice in Wonderland? Its faithful retelling of the original story brings to life many famous lively scenes, like this one of the Mad Tea Party.

If you're looking for a great audiobook, the downloadable version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is always available from Hoopla.
