2013 Nebula Awards

The Nebula Awards are presented by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and are one of the premiere awards in the field. The group just held its ceremony in San Jose, CA, so there's a new batch of winners to announce.

The award for Best Novel of 2013 went to Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie, a book we recommended back in February. If you're looking for more reading suggestions, this year's batch of nominees was unusually strong.

The Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy Book went to Sister Mine, a fantasy about formerly conjoined twins who still feel connected in a world of shape-shifters.

Meanwhile, the Damon Knight Grand Master Award went to the Samuel R. Delany. If you've never read Delany, you have missed out on one of the most original voices in American literature.
